Hmm, so some of you are asking, What exactly is GHETTO? Well GHETTO is what I consider my husbands, baby momma to be. (now this is strictly my opinion and no one elses!). The reason that I consider her ghetto is, she has 3 kids from 3 different men and all of them are on child support. Now do not get me wrong, I believe that a man AND/OR a women should take care of their child! My husband says that this is a business for her and the other women out there. They do not work and sit around and live off of that child support. But anyway the money is for the daughter but I am sure that she is spending it on her weave and whatever else.
Another thing is she has all kinds of men around their daughter. There were many times when she would drop off/pick up their daughter and there were numerous different men. I mean what kind of role model is that? If you want to put yourself out there like that, okay fine but why bring it around your kids, especially a girl.
She has the nerve to call me because she needs support for their daughter, HELLO, my husband is not here, when he was he was paying the child support every other week like he was supposed to but now that he is not here and her oldest son is now 18, she is down to only one child support check. My thoughts, fight so that he can come back and she can go back to sitting on her ass and collecting that money! Another reason why she is such a great role model for their daughter. I feel as if she is saying, Hey to get rich, live in the projects have about 3 or 4 kids and put the father(s) on child support and you will live the good life! I mean how ghetto is that?
So that is my rant and rave on my husbands baby momma and how GHETTO I feel that she is!!

I2US
All I can see is THANK GOD I found this site. This site has helped me tremendously with dealing with my current situation. Yes, we have a lawyer but I wasn't completely knowledgeable with the process! I must say after reading this site it helped me tremendously with composing my HSL. And I also found people that were in the same situation as me, I didn't feel alone anymore!
Being the wife of an "illegal"
For the most part being married to someone who is out of status is not really that difficult. I guess the reason that I say that is because we have not really tried to "evade" the authorities. We applied for benefits and husband was receiving EAD along with SS. We always kept the correct address on file with them. We've always payed our taxes. We have never really needed to "look over our shoulder", as we thought we were doing things the right way, but because they (ICE) was looking for someone else and could not get him they had to take someone in. (At least that is my personal opinion)!

Us
It is very exciting for me to talk about US! I met my husband back in October 1994. I had just given birth to my oldest daughter and believe it or not my sister-in-law introduced us. Hector and I were like best friends, we told each other everything. He used to live across the street from the park that I used to take the baby (she was the time) for a walk at. We never crossed that "line" as he knew that I was married to the girl who intorduced us, brother. Hector was young and so was I, only 18 and 22. Wow that seems like so long ago. From the moment we met we were inseperable.
We ended up loosing touch with each other as I went to visit him one evening and his new girlfriend was there; well not really she lived across the street and when she saw to "hoes" pull up to her mans house she was not happy. She called us every name in the book. Hector was not home but I made a point to let her know that we were just friends nothing more! I attempted to visit him one other time after that and he was home. Of course she came out acting "ghetto" as usual but I was just there to tell a friend hello. Maybe it was her own insecurities or karma coming back to her for what she had done to someone else's man. But, I honestly was there to visit my friend. She was rude and he was pissed that she was "acting out". I continued my visit with him but it was extremely uncomfortable. I ended up leaving and explained to him that I didn't want any problems, you know, one of those I will talk to you later.
This brings us to 1998. My ex-huabnd was in prison and the marriage was OVER! I was in the process of getting him to sign the divorce papers but that was the one hold that he has over me. I was with my ex-SIL and she tells me come on lets go to 15th. I told her no, I don't want to go there are too many guys over there and they all want one thing. I don't have time for that. Then she says, well Hector is there and he was been asking about you. Wow, that was my fiend, my friend that I hadn't seen in 3 1/2 years. She had me. I said, oh okay but we are going this one time (for some reason, I didn't believe her). So we go to Sergio's house on 15th. When we get there, we pull up and do not see him. We ask his friend Henri is he there. Henri tells us that he is at work and to come back later. So we pull off and I am sad and very disappointed. I had already decided in my mind that I wasn't going to go back over there because the men were already there and like I said before they only wanted one thing. Well it is now the evening and I am on the way to take my ex SIL home. She askes me one more time if I wanted to go back to 15th (Sergios house) to see if we see Hector. I tell her okay just one more time and if Hector isn't there then, ya nada mas! ---Side bar, my SIL is very promiscuous and she just wanted to go over there for the attention that she gets from the guys-- Well, we get over there and who is on the porch? That is right, my future husband. It had been so long since the last time we saw each other! The first thing he asked was where was daughter he wanted to see her, after he saw her we hugged and hugged and hugged.
Since that moment in July of 1998, we have been inseperable. The evening that I ran back into him we made plans for later to meet up. So to make a long story short we cought up on all of the time that we missed! I found out he had a daughter and yes, with the "ghetto girl" (see What is GHETTO). I told him congrats! He informed me that they were not together because she has the "ghetto" state of mind and doesn't want to change. I asked him what did he mean by that and he says that she has no ambition. She likes to sit around and collect child support from her other baby daddies! (That is another story).
That was the best day of my life!!
